Internet, Web Development and me

I still remember the days when I first got my internet access. It was a dial-up connection from NetCom Canada. I fell in love with the Internet instantly as it allowed me to access and exchange information easily and globally. More importantly, I knew I wanted to be part of the Internet Revolution.

I started developing websites when I was Grade 9. NetCom offered a basic HTML Wizard for creating simple personal web pages. The tool was nice and intuitive but it was not long before I became frustrated with its limitations. I have decided that I could do better and I started learning HTML 3.2 on my own.

I wrote my first dynamic web pages (ASP) in the summer of 2000, when I spent my summer in Hong Kong--my place of birth. Shortly after, I started helping friends to build web sites for fun or for a fee.

Years have past and HTML itself has evolved dramatically. Over the years I have acquired skills in ASP.NET, XHTML and CSS. As a freelance web developer, I pride myself in creating cross-browser, standard compliant web pages using XHTML and CSS-based layout.

Currently, I am working at DTKH Communications and am responsible for implement new and migrating existing websites in ASP.NET 2.0.
